Topic: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

I upgraded to SS Plus 1.9.5 and now I cannot see the final page with the code for my slideshow when using the SS Embed Utility link. Below is the link I clicked on the first step provided and all I get is a blank white page.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

I'm sorry for the issue. Your slide show either did not upload to your server correctly, or there is something wrong with the code in the modified "index.html" file. I am unable to load a slide show at http://theresascarbrough.com/publish_to_web/index.html. Once the slide show is working, you should be able to get the embedding code here:

http://theresascarbrough.com/publish_to … ?embedcode

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

I uploaded a new slideshow today and the embed tool worked ok thanks! However I used the IOS_html5 shell for the new slideshow and it looks great on my computer but when viewing on my iphone all of the vertical images are not centered they all shift to the left of the screen?

Please view the below link on an iphone to see what I am talking about. I am not sure if it is doing the same on ipads I don't own one.

We have verified the issue and will work on an update to the iOS_html5 shell as soon as possible.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

I upgraded to SS plus 1.9.5 and exported my project, but I don't see how to create the embed code that will allow the slideshow to show up on the ipad.  When I look at the index.html file in the publish_to_web folder, it looks the same as it always has -- a .swf file.  I read above that there is something called "the SS Embed Utility link" -- I am not seeing that anywhere. Can you tell me what I need to do to find that? I'm on Mac OS 10.5. Haven't uploaded anything to my server yet, just checking locally. I would like my slideshow to be viewable on an ipad, ipod touch, etc.  Thank you!

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Theresasc75, we have emailed you the updated CSS file via our support system. An updated ios_html5 shell with this fix will be released asap.

We were able to narrow down the issue to the _files/soundslides.css file specifically related to the iframe.html. The fix only requires two additional lines be added to the #slide_area style on line 35 of "soundslides.css. The style should be changed to the following:

.iDevices #slide_area {
    position:absolute;
    top: 0;
    cursor: pointer;
    display:inline;
    text-align:center;
}

"nhmuse" : Have you selected the "iOS_html5" shell and re-exported your project? Please see our documentation here for more info on understanding shells in Soundslides

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to submit a help request and we will respond within one business day.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Hi nhmuse,

In order to get an embedding code, you will need to upload your slide show to a web server first. The "iOS_html5" shell Justin mentioned includes an SWF file because it displays the classic Flash player in browsers that have the Flash plug-in installed, and displays an HTML 5/JavaScript player otherwise. This allows slide shows to be seen on devices including the iPhone and iPad.

For HTML5-compatible slide shows, you can just add "?embedcode" to the end of the slide show's complete URL to access the built-in embedding code generator. For instance:

http://www.example.com/publish_to_web/i … ?embedcode

(You may need to mouse-over the sample URL above to see the full syntax.)

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Greetings,

I'm having a similar problem to this but this thread hasn't yet answered my question. I'm a newbie, so hope there's nothing obvious I'm missing.

I'm using SoundSlides Plus 1543 and FTPing the export to my self-hosted WordPress blog. I'm trying to embed the code into the post. When I paste the address of the FTP export folder into my browser I can see the slideshow but when I paste the address into the Soundslides embed tool (http://tools.soundslides.com/embed/) I receive an error message saying that no slide show was found at that URL.

The address of the FTP export folder is http://christinenesbitt.com/wp-content/uploads/ZCCC1/

When I enter http://christinenesbitt.com/wp-content/ … ?embedcode I receive the same error message.

Very grateful for any advice.
Christine.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Hi Christine,

I'm sorry for the issue. Sometimes our embedding tool is unable to load a slide show due to the server configuration. We have an alternative tool that I have tested with your slide show and am able to get the embedding code. Here is the URL for the alternative embedding tool:

http://media.soundslides.com/embedtool/

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Thank you, Jonathan, all worked out OK with the alternate embed tool.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Hi Jonathan,
Seems all is well in my computer's browser, but the slide show doesn't appear when viewed on iPad. I did choose the HTML5 shell. Any ideas?
Thanks, Christine.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Hi Jonathan,
Here's the link where the slideshow is embedded, it doesn't show on iPad iOS5 desire using a HTML5 compatible shell - http://christinenesbitt.com/zambian-chi … ference-i/
Thanks, Christine.

Re: Embed Utility Not Showing Code

Ah, sorry for the confusion. The embedding tools generate code for the Flash player only. For HTML5-compatible slide shows, you do not actually need the  embedding tool. You can just add "?embedcode" to the end of the slide show's complete URL to access the built-in embedding code generator. For instance:

www.example.com/publish_to_web/index.html

... would be ...

www.example.com/publish_to_web/index.html?embedcode
