Topic: invisible buttons don't work for screen readers

I am trying to make the slideshow 508 compliant (accessible to screenreaders) and I have mostly succeeded. The one last thing that is stopping me is that the buttons for the play, stop, pause buttons, next and back buttons, seem to have only an element in the hit state to them. Screen readers will entirely ignore buttons that do not have something within the up, over, or down states, so would it be possible to get a version with the buttons containing an element with an aplha of 0 in the up state?

Re: invisible buttons don't work for screen readers

Hi layla.

I'm pretty sure I have a version of the player with those states defined, but I'm away from the office (and my source files) until Monday.  The player currently has movieclip instances for each of the states.  Those states are linked in AS to the play/next/pause/stop/back functions, which *should* also work in screen readers ... at least it worked the last time we ran all the A tests.

I'll follow-up with the file on Monday.

Just to follow-up ... I sent the new file via email.  There should be states all the buttons now.
