Topic: Changing path to files

Joe,
Lamonte from N&O here.   Scott told me to give you a buzz.

We are trying to get Soundslides into our CMS and there is one problem.  Our CMS will only load 1 swf for a link.   So that swf has to point to another directory(using http:) for all the source files in order to work.

Is there any way Soundslides can change the default directory for where the accompanying files are.   Scott really really wants to keep using Soundslides and having the ability to say where the source files are online would solve our problem.

Thanks

Re: Changing path to files

Hi Lamonte.

I have a set of query string variables that you can use to pass the path to the source files.

http://support.soundslides.com/index.ph … &id=55

So your embed code might include a reference that looks like this:

soundslider.swf?pathToImages=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/custom&pathToControlFile=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/soundslide.xml&pathToAudioFile=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/audio_hi.mp3&pathToFullscreenImages=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/fullscreen

Let me know if that's what you're looking for ...

Re: Changing path to files

that's it!  One more question.   Does this include the path to the XML as well?

Re: Changing path to files

Yes.  That's the "pathToControlFile" varialble/FlashVar.

soundslider.swf?pathToImages=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/custom&pathToControlFile=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/soundslide.xml&pathToAudioFile=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/audio_hi.mp3&pathToFullscreenImages=http://soundslides.com/examples/memories/fullscreen
