Topic: Full Screen Option Not Working in My HTML Shell

I built an HTML shell in Adobe GoLive to drop slideshows into. Something within that shell is making the full screen button to not work. Nothing happens. If I open the initial index from the "publish to web" folder, full screen works fine.

That leads me to believe that it is something in my shell, but I'm no code wiz. Any chance you folks could have a look and tell me what you think? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Full Screen Option Not Working in My HTML Shell

Hi eightfifteen.

Your embed code needs a parameter called "allowFullScreen" - if that parameter is missing, the Flash Player won't switch over to fullscreen mode.

I think you can add that parameter via GoLive; I seem to recall that there's a way to modify parameters with Flash files in GL.

If not, you'll have to switch over to "code mode" and add it by hand.

I've copied the embed code from your page, and put the additions in red.  See below:

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" height="565" width="800" align="bottom">
<param name="movie" value="soundslider.swf">
<param name="quality" value="best">
<param name="play" value="true">
<param name="play" value="true">
<param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" />
<embed align="bottom" height="565" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" src="soundslider.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="800" allowfullscreen="true" quality="best" play="true">

Let me know if that fixes it, or if you'd like me to confirm that the change is correct in the code.

Re: Full Screen Option Not Working in My HTML Shell

You were right on. Brilliant. GoLive allows for adding attributes in the inspector, I added that attribute, uploaded, boom. Done. Thanks! BTW, Golive wrote the code just as you did.

I've been wanting to change my whole site to use SS, and this was the one thing holding me back. Thanks again.
