Topic: captions modifications

Is there a way to style the captions (add letter spacing, custom font, move the caption box)?

Through the flash component?

Is there a generic flash file available for download so that I can make a custom player?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: captions modifications

By adding HTML coding to credits and captions text, you can increase your control over the appearance of the text. Here is a page from the manual with more information:

You can embed other fonts in the player using the Flash component in conjunction with the Adobe Flash application (MX2004 or later). Here is a page from the manual with more information:

Here is general information on the Flash component (following pages give more detailed information):

Re: captions modifications

Ok, I read about the html coding, but what I really want to do is to move the caption box, give it some padding, and change the background color.

How can I achieve that?

Also, when I use the soundslide component in flash, I don't seem to have the option to change much of anything, in terms of repositioning elements like the title or the heading or the captions.

Am I missing something?

You'll definitely need to use the component for that.  With the component, you can create a new textfield, then position that anywhere you'd like.

You can't really "move" the existing elements as much as create new ones.  Try the code from this example:
http://media.soundslides.com/files/captions_credits/

If you open that example in Flash, you'll see a textfield under the player. You'll be able to style that in Flash and move it (assuming you have some Flash knowledge).

Let me know how it goes.
